Donald Trump, who went on to win the presidency, received 41.9% of the vote.[1] Although Democrats had once again carried Delaware's three electoral votes, the state swung 7.19% Republican from the 2012 election, and Kent County flipped from Democratic to Republican. This was the first time since 1968 that Delaware did not vote for the same candidate as neighboring Pennsylvania.
