With exceptions for older and physically challenged people, you should have to go to the polls. If it's important to you, you will go and stand in line. There's a better chance that the person that takes the time to go, is more likely to have looked up information on who there voting for. There's know since in making it easy for someone who had to be forced to vote for someone they don't know any information on or know's the issues.

Back in the 1700's the fledgling United States of America changed the course of human existence by creating a system of government by the people. People in other countries were shot or whipped when they demanded the same freedoms that the U.S. proclaimed. All you have to do is register and get off your dead ass between the hours of 6 am and 7 pm and cast a ballot. If you think it's "too hard" the ABC stores are still open in Va.

Well.............any psychotic, deranged lunatic can walk into a DMV and get a license to maim, destroy, and kill nowadays. Even the crippled and blind can get drivers licenses.

Same is happening to voting.

Whatever happened to "Driving is a privilege, not a right"??

English isn't your first language is it?

Voting should be fall-off-the-log easy. Knowing the difference between "no" and "know" should be easier. WOW.

"The Founding Fathers had it right. Only the smartest should be allowed to vote."

Yupper, those FF's knew how to keep the lines short on Election Day.

After all it would only be the white guys going to cast a ballot.
No black guys.
No Natives.
No Asians.
No women.

Yup that would keep the lines at least ....well, shorter.

Of course too, making sure that only the white guys who owned agricultural land could vote also kept the wait to get to your voting terminal fairly tolerable. And there would be less need and expense......for those Dominion tabulators.

Those old Founding Fathers had it all scoped out a long long time ago.

ps....everybody on this chatroom who owns farmland....well, raise your hand. You will get to vote.

Voting shouldn't be easy?

Why?

It's the basis of democracy. All citizens should vote

I remember years ago telling people that it is their duty to vote on election day. I have changed my belief. People who have not kept up on the issues and which candidates support what you believe should NOT vote. They are the ones swayed in polls. If you take your duty seriously and keep up on the issues, you should vote. If voting is important to you, you will find a way to vote, whatever the hours and days of voting are.

How about this:

You can only vote if you have a history of paying taxes. You can only vote if you register in advance. If you show up on Election Day. If you are LITERATE. If you can pass a simple civics test, demonstrating that you understand the position that you are voting for and its scope, you know who is running and basically what their positions are on the major issues...

While all of this is reasonable, of course, and if every voter qualified as I describe above, the results of the election would tend to be more rational that what we have now...

But these prerequisites would screen out WAY more POC's than so-called "white" people, so they clearly would be a form of "voter suppression." There wouldn't be 170 million voters; there would be about 25 million.

Is voter suppression such a bad thing? is it better to have every idiot casting a ballot, regardless of whether they have a fucking clue about the issues?

The Lefties WANT idiots voting. Isn't that clear?

You're wrong

Blacks, natives, Asians, & women are just as likely to be informed enough to vote and should vote. Ignorant whites should not vote and neither should ignorant blacks, natives, Asians, or women.
