It seems MIT made a novel antiviral drug that works in the same way penicillin does with a bacteria.

Basically theyve created a protein complex that targets cells infected by the virus. In the presence of certain viral genes (or their derivative proteins???) it triggers apoptosis. They say it could cure everything from the common cold to ebola.
