The are the only large scale medical facilities in the world to have this expertise and it's because your nation has been at war almost continually since Viet Nam.

Civilian hospitals have skills nor the personnel to deal with these types of injuries or rehabilitation. All of that will be lost if the VA is dismantled.

I've seen what community care providers are paid, it's about what medicare pays. Every time I've used community care I get a summary of charges and payments.
