Judging by the testimony at trial, I would say the answer is no to both.

They got a lot of money tossed their way. They chose to blow it on living it up rather than get high-quality legal representation for their son, who now faces decades in prison, partly because he had a lame lawyer. That is totally on them. Are you going to criticize their actions or defend them after that?

In the case of Chauvin, he was caught red-handed on video doing exactly what he was accused of.

In the case of OJ, the gloves didn't fit. Fuhrman lied about using slurs. Fung lied about collecting the evidence himself. The police couldn't account for half of OJ's blood they took for testing.

The fact that you have to go back 30 years to find a case where a black man didn't get screwed by the system because he had enough money to put up a vigorous defense is telling.

Not that our racist system was happy to leave it at that. It charged OJ again for trying to recover his own property from a crooked memorabilia dealer and sent him to prison for 10 years (while everyone else involved walked.)

That's your usual bullcrap. The gloves were tight because they had been wet for testing. Leather shrinks when wet. I wore a lot of wet then dried leather work gloves during my working days, they always shrank. There was tons of evidence against OJ including photos of him wearing the "ugly ass shoes" he was wearing at the time of the murder that he denied UNDER OATH ever owning a pair of. OJ just got lucky with Gil Garcetti (I think) the DA moving the trial from the Santa Monica Courthouse where they were used to trying celebrities to the Downtown L.A. Courthouse because it had the press facilities from the Manson Family Murder trials. Judge Lance Ito was star-struck and let the defense run all over him and the prosecution was so sure of the slam dunk case they got lazy.
