Umm actually no, I didn't ever really think that you would vote for Kamala Harris. I was just trying to make a point that being a vegan or a vegetarian is fine if that's what you want to do with your life and it's your choice about what you want to eat, BUT even though I know that you mean well when you try to start forcing your opinion on other people that's no different than saying that you have to take the vaccine.
There is so much wrong with the ^ above paragraph that I don't even know where to begin.
You seem to be confused about the meaning of the word "force."
- Posting information is not "forcing" anyone to do anything. Unless someone is in your house with a gun to your head, prying your eyes open to read something.... no one is forcing you to read anything on this site.
- Correcting misinformation or debating is not "forcing" anyone. If it
was, then there's a hell of a lot of forcing going on on here at USMB, every minute of every day.
- Even starting threads on veganism (which I
very rarely do, ironically it's almost always non-vegans who start the threads) is not "forcing" anyone. People have the freedom to click on a thread or not click on a thread.
- Having a YouTube channel is not "forcing" anyone to do anything. People are free to subscribe or not subscribe. To watch videos or not watch them.
You seem to have a problem with simply reading or hearing anything about veganism. Well, there's an easy solution to that problem. Just don't click on threads on that topic. And don't start threads on the topic (which I'm pretty sure you have done, which seems inconsistent if you are so opposed to hearing anyone talk about the topic.)
Btw, I think it's incredibly hypocritical when people say "vegans are forcing their view on others" when that is EXACTLY what non-vegans do every single day, to the animals, who have zero say in the matter. Think about it.
At least to me it isn't anyways. Now you have really eased up on that part, I was just trying to get you and Carl to understand how you sound when you guys start doing that.
I haven't eased up on anything. I mean, we haven't had that many vegan threads recently, maybe because in the past there were lots of threads on the topic, and it has already been argued six ways to Sunday. But if someone were to start a new thread on it, I would most likely be posting on it just like I always have, since Day One.
Lastly... I get WHY you feel the way you do. Nobody likes to hear about the horrible things the animals they eat go through, because it puts people in the position of having to think about their own complicity in it.
And frankly? Most people love their bacon, steak, hamburgers, cheese, etc, more than they do the animals who are FORCED into a living hell by those who pay for it. Which is you.
Forcing your desires on them.
