"WW2 ended with negotiations" and "negotiations ended WW2" mean two different things.
If the US had told the Japanese that they would end their monarchy and seize the emperor, then Japan would have certainly fought on despite two atomic bombings and the Russia declaration of war and attack on the Asian mainland.

They had no choice because their armies were defeated. Explain how you would convince Putin to leave Ukraine while his military is winning the war. He should be given "no choice"? He has a choice.
