The USA didn't start either of those World Wars, Europe did and those Wars were rolling along with lots of death and destruction before the USA got dragged into them, and FINISHED THE WARS, put an end to them. Place got involved in the rebuild of Europe, and other parts of the world, afterward.

I few "Bonus" items most forget about or didn't know, weren't taught;

Because of the heavy focus/need for Air Power, the USA built hundreds of large airports with paved runways able to handle the heavy bombers and transport aircraft we used, and "Lend-Leased" to our Allies.

Many of those transport aircraft were sold cheap (or given away) to our Allies and other nations to form a part of the Post-War global airline industry.

Those airbases/air ports included air traffic routes (highways in the sky) which came with modern navigational signals/beacons, updated charts/maps, radars, established air traffic control systems, and other key components for a global international commercial air traffic grid/network.

The USA had a lot of trucks, jeeps, and other motor transport we didn't want to send back to the USA, so those remained overseas in the hands of former allies and the liberated nations.

There was similar "surplus" merchant ships, cargo and petroleum transports and other maritime support systems that were also "left" overseas.

Along with funding much of the rebuild of housing and industries in the nations that where war destruction occurred, the USA also continued to provide food to much of the world that had been prior battlegrounds.

The USA gave away a whole lot of material goods to fight and end/win those "European wars", bring peace to the World and feed and rebuild the aftermath. We paid a heavy price in blood and a huge price in treasure(money).

USA efforts to support, defend, and prop-up the world have continued ever since.

The USA deserved a lot more gratitude and appreciation than it ever received and still doesn't get.

Europe and most of the rest of the world still behave like little spoiled children and leave the USA to be the parent. !

Had England(UK) and France been less punitive towards Germany, might the conditions that lead to support and rise of Hitler and Nazi Party to power have been thwarted ???

Had the USA (POTUS Wilson) not stepped back and dodged active role in the Post WWI treaty, might the foundation of conditions that lead to rise of Hitler and Nazi party been thwarted ??? !!!

As it was, leaving matters solely in the hands of England(UK) and France and their punitive agenda towards Germany helped to set the stage for the next World War barely twenty years later.

Had USA/Wilson taken a more active role in the Treaty negotiations, it's possible things might not have resulted in setting foundations of the next World War.

As it was, the USA/Wilson reverted to the "Isolationist"/'Don't bother me' mode, again, and the non-participation led to a reset for the next War replay.

History always has lesson to teach.
Too often those Lessons are neither examined, considered, and applied.
Classic case here post WWI and again in post WWII.

Going into the 21st Century with prior world war lessons unlearned, and results note applied, I expect we will see a replay, 21st Century style, of what was set-up and played out the past 100 years.
