Utah teacher apologizes after making boy remove religious symbol on ash Wednesday

You know, while I'm not a big fan of religion myself, there is no reason for a teacher to force a kid to remove a religious marking that is important to him and his faith.

I agree. The teacher and school should be sued.

Sad that they would be so ignorant. Of course, I went to school in a town about 75% catholic....everyone knew what that meant.

Well, this did happen in Utah. I wonder if the teacher was Mormon?
Would not surprise me...and that none of the other kids in the class knew what it was.

Imagine if some towel head was asked to remove the towel. :p I am opposed to suing government for money because the state and local agencies will raise taxes to cover the costs! The "teacher" should simply be fired or put on leave to take courses in Europhobia sensitivity training.

Because the teacher did apologize, in my opinion, no further action should be happening when there are plenty of people in this world who can not even say that they are sorry for anything.

God bless you and the teacher and the boy always!!!

Yes, and I went to school in a town that was 1% Catholic and the same thing could have easily happened there. I did not know anything about "Ash Wednesday" until college. It was a mistake, saddle up and move on!
