USSC RvW Decision Results In Action - Kansas Set For Nation's 1st State-Wide Abortion Vote

This thread didn't age well... the anti-Choice side lost 60-40 despite the best efforts of the GOP to rig the vote.
How did it not age well?

The results of the USSC was that the PEOPLE got to choose, not that the pro-choice crowd got their way. The people did vote.

This is a medical issue between a woman and her doctor. NO ONE else has any say in any of it.

Are you talking about hiring a hitman to kill her husband?

Not the government, and not the voters. This is a PRIVATE matter.

Private matters in a public clinic with a stranger? Legitimate doctors don't perform abortions, it will always be an abortionist who hides in the shadows.

Perhaps “forced pregnancy” would be better.

You mean rape?

So, if we take away the abortions done as a result of rape and the life of the mother, that still leaves the other 99.9999997% of abortions.

In all fairness, with Joe Biden running the biggest human trafficking ring since the Roman empire, rape is increasing exponentially. The 10 year old that Quid Pro drooled about getting a holy and sacred abortion was raped by Biden's cartels as part of the human trafficking pipeline..

The husband has no legal say in the matter. Why is the Republican solution to any problem to kill those who stand in your way???? It's a real "one note" response you have to any situation. KILL SOMEONE!!!!

Your last paragraph is so idiotic it's laughable. Clinic's aren't "public" at all. They are open to the public, but patients consult with REAL doctors, in private, and what they discuss or agree on is between the woman and her doctor.

The whole point of "legal abortions" is to have a REAL doctor perform them in safe conditions, you stupid idiot.

Roe v Wade said otherwise.

Roe v Wade fell far short of ensuring women's rights, but it was much better than the laws on the books at the time.

I live in a country where abortion is strictly a medical matter. Abortions are covered in our government funded health care, so to put it into the language of the American right - they're legal and they're free to anyone who wants one. There are no laws governing abortion, and Canadians are very resistant to changing the status quo.

It may come as a complete shock to you that despite the lack of legal prohibitions on abortion, and the fact that they're "free", the Canadian abortion rate is HALF that of American women. That's because we have paid maternity leave for one year, universal health care, a $500 per month child tax benefit for poor families, and other family friendly benefits.

I was delighted this morning to wake up to find that the State of Kansas voted to preserve the right to an abortion in the state of Kansas with nearly 60% of voters in a SOLID RED STATE, voted in favour of a woman's right to self-determination.

DON'T LOSE THE RIGHT TO CHOSE.

Like my vaccine status?

Not at all like your vaccine status. Getting a vaccine doesn't require a lifetime commitment to care for, feed, clothe and raise another human being. There are no obligations visited upon you at all when you're required to take a vaccine, to protect public health.

A pregnancy has no health implications to the rest of the community at large whatsoever. When you become infected with a communicable disease, you endanger EVERYONE you come into contact with, especially those with unknown or unseen health risks, like diabetes, heart conditions, asthma, or COPD.

So no, pregnancy and vaccine mandates are not at all alike.

Fact remains
Under Roe, both the government and the voters had a say.

And you're splitting hairs. No one said they didn't have a say, just that they really have no right to a say.

You're trying to pick up the peanuts of the argument, while being trampled by the elephants here.

KANSAS VOTED IN FAVOUR OF CHOICE. ALL OF AMERICA WILL BE VOTING FOR CHOICE COME THE MIDTERMS. KISS TAKING THE HOUSE OR THE SENATE GOODBYE.

But they do. Roe said so.
They also have a say now.
No right is unlimited, no right is absolute.

A woman's right to choose should not be up for a vote. This is a private matter.

We are endlessly told that women are so much smarter and even superior. Especially the Progressive Socialist ones. And yet they get pregnant over callous sexual interactions. It's like we are told one thing and we see another. And the nation falters more and more. Over one million abortions a year is a lot.
Of course men who can't keep it in their pants have NOTHING to do with this.....

No it is not. It is affront to women that their right to choose is up for a vote. If a man could get pregnant, Roe vs Wade would still be the law of the land. Women are seen by Republicans as second class citizens.
