Okay everybody, it's time for New Year's resolutions. Remember though that this is the Coffee Shop so keep it non political, don't attack anybody, and be reasonably kind please. :)

I will say that my NY resolution for this year will be the same as for 2024 in which I resolve to not feed the trolls, argue with idiots or engage in other exercises in futility.

I think I was able to do that maybe 70% of the time in 2024? I hope to have a better record in 2025.

Conversely I resolve to do better to acknowledge those who are inspirational, helpful, encouraging, kind, loving, caring, smart, informative, brilliant!!! That would be pretty much everybody in the Coffee Shop and a lot of others here at USMB. That is what keeps me here. :)

My New Year's resolution for 2025 is the same as 2024: No interwebbing in the morning until after I've had a cup of coffee - and no interwebbing at all after I've had an adult beverage.

Another recipe that intrigues and impresses me that I won't be making myself. :)

It's very cool, but I don't have the wood burning oven for something like that. I'll stick to loaves of whole wheat.

If I had thought of it I would have added that to mine. I don't do adult beverages anymore but that cup of coffee is pretty important for general attitude. :)

I love to make bread, from scratch, hand kneaded. You can take a lot of frustration out on that bread dough. :) And I do make some good bread if I say so myself. Our waistbands testify to it. :)

I try not to eat too much bread - but mr. boe is carb junkie. I'd rather have homemade items for him instead of the mass packaged goods stuff.

Anybódy else watch The Rose Parade?
No. We used to wouldn't miss it but we don't even think about it any more. Was it as wonderful as it used to seem to be? We had a quiet, pleasant uneventful New Years Eve and New Years Day. The neighbors managed to find two firecrackers to fire off at midnight New Years Eve and that was it for the fireworks.

Have a friend who lives in Hawaii however where fireworks are illegal. New Years Eve all across the Honolulu the skies were lit up with fireworks.

Parade was great, their choice of singers was a little suspect.

Does seem to be a lack of new talent.
I look at the great singers of the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and some in the 80s and think how many had great effortless flawless voices. Every now and then you get a Josh Groban or Susan Boyle but so few are of the caliber of Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Glen Campbell, Patsy Cline, Karen Carpenter, many others. Most these days have just mediocre good singing voices covered by loud amps.

Country still produces new talent. Pop is dead.
