Merry Christmas!

The funny thing is I only like the ending of A Christmas Story. My favorite Christmas movie is the 1970 Scrooge with Albert Finny.
I think we have all the Christmas Carol movie versions including the 1970 one except for "Scrooged." Didn't ever want a copy of that one.

But of all our favorite is "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott playing Scrooge. (1984.) George C. Scott is one of those brilliant actors who actually becomes the character he plays rather than just a version of himself reciting different lines and that may have been one of his best roles ever.

I just did the math.
By the 12th day of Christmas, if he follows the song to the letter, Hombre will have given me:
12 partridges in 12 pear trees (we live on a small lot.)
22 turtle doves that will need the 12 pear trees for nests.
30 French hens (I'm pretty sure that violates some sort of city code)
36 calling birds so there comes the noise violation.
40 gold rings and I'm flattered but. . .
42 geese alaying--along with the hens I'm positive that violates city ordinances and how do you cook goose eggs?
42 swans aswimming--the contractor can put in the pool on Monday.
40 maids amilking--so now we have to find room and board somewhere for the maids and build a barn for the cows and get a dairy license.
36 ladies dancing and 33 lords a leaping and by the time I add 22 pipers piping and 12 drummers drumming, we have to sell the house and move to commercial zoning for the dance hall or dinner theater.
So how are your 12 days of Christmas going?

Yum. Do you eat it as is? Or process it further like browning in a skillet?
There's enough there to easily last a month. When I have it on tortillas or fry bread I crisp it first. However a large amount goes into my Tex-Mex Glop and a pork soup. I don't crisp it in those cases. All of that goes into the freezer. I did that and still have roughly 2 pounds in baggies in the freezer.

15th post
Okay everybody, it's time for New Year's resolutions. Remember though that this is the Coffee Shop so keep it non political, don't attack anybody, and be reasonably kind please. :)

I will say that my NY resolution for this year will be the same as for 2024 in which I resolve to not feed the trolls, argue with idiots or engage in other exercises in futility.

I think I was able to do that maybe 70% of the time in 2024? I hope to have a better record in 2025.

Conversely I resolve to do better to acknowledge those who are inspirational, helpful, encouraging, kind, loving, caring, smart, informative, brilliant!!! That would be pretty much everybody in the Coffee Shop and a lot of others here at USMB. That is what keeps me here. :)
