Some years ago I was driving past the laughing academy in a New England State and had a flat tire.
No biggie. Jacked it up; took off the flat but in doing so knocked over the hubcap that held the lug nuts which rolled down a storm drain. There I was with a good spare tire and nothing to hold it on.

A guy in an orange jump suit sauntered over to the fence and said "Take one nut off each of the other wheels and put the tire on". Then drive slowly and carefully to a gas station or parts shot and get new ones.

I thought that was cool and thanked him. Thanked him for taking time off his staff duties to help me out like that. He told me he wasn't staff - he was an inmate. But, he continued, I'm definitely nuts but I'm NOT stupid.
