US vs Iran Dilemma: Who to believe. Who has more credibility?

Nah, he’s doing the right thing. That’s why you’re running that mouth.
Trump has turned the world against us

That will be his lasting legacy

It’s about fricking time that the Euro trash stopped picking our pockets, and using our military for their defense.

You’re supporting a dying continent

We first looked at posting this on the Politics Board, then on the Military Board, then The Iran Board, and then On further thought - after writing out much of this post, We decided to settle on the Politics Board (Discuss politics, government policies and candidates). This is about so much more than just what it may present itself as on first look. 👨‍🏫

We in the American public, as well as those all over the world are stuck with a US vs Iran Dilemma: Who to believe. Who has more credibility? It's pathetic that we come to this, but back in 2016 Jeb Bush warned us all: "Chaos Candidate...Chaos President" - truer words were never spoken.

The latest issue (one in a long list) is this

Which is it? The Trump administration has lost all credibility with the US public and with the public and Leaders around the world -- mostly allies. This Bull-in-a-China-Shop routine has damaged relations that will take a few presidencies to repair -- if possible. Things will never be the same. No going back.

We've reached a point where the US looks like the Baghdad Bob of International Relations. Thank you Donald J. Trump.

We can't even imitate former President Ronald Reagan, when he said "Trust, but verify" (doveryai, no proveryai - Russian proverb). There is little to no trust when dealing with the Trump administration.
Who do you believe? The one you want to hear that you agree with.

Can you imagine a world where Canada, Mexico, Greenland, India and the entire EU hates us?

That is the world Trump gave us

Thats called changing the balance of power to favor America and we are thriving. They cant take advantage of us anymore. Their manufacturing is coming here, the money is coming here, the jobs are coming here and thats all good.

What gave the illusion they liked you in the first place?
Because they followed our global leadership, the people looked forward to visiting the U.S. and buying our products.

Trump destroyed that for good

When I was in the navy 1965-1970 you could go into any bar or restaurant in South America, Mexico, Africa or the Caribbean and there was always a picture of JFK somewhere in the place, and we were usually welcomed, Viet Nam notwithstanding. I think when we lost credibility we lost respect, and it will be very hard to get it back. You can't bomb people into respecting you, and fear is not very long lasting. We also have almost run out of money to buy friends; Israel is the exception.

I started a thread a while back titled, "The disorienting nature of gaslighting." The American public is being gaslit by the regime on a daily basis in dozens of ways. Even though muscle memory says we should trust our government over an untrustworthy one like Iran's the unfortunate reality is the trump regime is equally untrustworthy.

Never happen. They understand where their bread is buttered.

And if they don’t? Then it may be time for some tough love. Much like a responsible parent does when an unruly teen gets too big for their britches…

Actually the US used to engage in trade partnerships not trade wars

It is now the US vs the world and the rest of the world is looking for more dependable trade partners

China is filling that void

I live in the rust belt. Those trade partnerships, were us gettting fucked up the ass.

Time to change trade policy.

CHINA?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

China will burn in our lifetime. With significant lifetime left over. And yes, we are both old. -ish.

You're knocking these illusions out left, right, and centre.
Free trade used to be a cornerstone of the Republican Party

Now it is the US vs the world
They will partner without us

When the policy failed to deliver, we changed our policy position.

It is sad how slow we were on it.

What part of that is confusing to you?
