Over three months, senior Biden administration officials held half a dozen urgent meetings with top Chinese officials in which the Americans presented intelligence showing Russia's troop buildup around Ukraine and beseeched the Chinese to tell Russia not to invade, according to U.S. officials.

And in the last few months alone China has inked major trade deals for Russias oil, coal and wheat so it appears they made the world aware of their decision.

Putin only needs China, not the rest of the world.

What I didn't take into account was the ability of the Ukrainian military and militias to keep the conflict going this long. My statement was based on me thinking the Russian Military would be able to squash organized resistance in less than 3-5 days, and the existing Ukrainian government would be dead, in exile, or captured.

Also the Ukrainian President's Social media abilities were not taken into account by me.
