Lawsuit filed in NY court seeks to confiscate 14 ships slated to participate in upcoming flotilla on grounds they were outfitted with unlawful funds.

Dr. Alan Bauer, an American victim of a Palestinian terror attack, filed on Thursday a first of its kind lawsuit in an effort to seize ships used by Islamic and anti-Israeli organizations to breach Israel's coastal blockade of the Gaza Strip as part of the upcoming flotilla.

The suit, Bauer v. The Mavi Marmara, was filed in Manhattan federal court, seeking to confiscate 14 ships, which are scheduled to participate in the upcoming flotilla and which were outfitted with funds the plaintiff claims were unlawfully raised in the United States by anti-Israel groups, including The Free Gaza Movement.

Basic international law.

Turkey might also be financially liable. The UK government had to pay a ton of money to the US government because of the Alabama claims.

the law is old enough that it uses 18th century legal claims.

Just another greedy fuckface trying to use that phony terrorist shit to grab someones stuff.

These ships do not sail with the intent to cause hostilities. They sail to a piece of land, called Gaza, Not israeli sovereign territory. Moreover, these activists are unarmed and transport humanitarian relief and support goods that are held back by a hostile force. On an earlier sailing, the boats were attacked and pirated in international water by IDF terrorists and 9 people killed.

It will be interesting to see where it goes. But the more they try to undermine Israel's sovereignty, the more Israel will have to pursue all available remedies.

I have a permit carry and don't leave my house with intent either...you know?

What is wrong with Israel allowing aid and foodstuffs into Gaza, BUT ONLY after checking for BOMB=Making materials??? Israel is extremely wise to exert rigorous controls over the murderous terrorists in Gaza who have lobbed thousands of bombs toward Israeli civilians.

The good news is that Palestinians are completely incompetent at everything...including terrorist bombings.

Haven't you heard? It's a violation of Palestinians' civil rights to keep bomb-making materials from them.

Or some stupid horseshit like that. Ask Tinhead.
