SHOCK: U.S. Made Over Trillion Dollars of Improper Payments

Is the cupboard really bare let? Should we really be this trusting of a government that erroneously spent 5% of its entire nations GDP? That's 1/3 of the total tax dollars the us receives yearly. Can we really not cut spending? Does the US really not have a spending problem? Come on left, it's time to get real

So you don't trust your own country? Are you a traitor or something?

Oh god, listen to the straw man arguments start. So pointing out how the Fed Govt erroneously spent 1/3 of its entire tax receipts...and suddenly I am now a traitor. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Have a rational conversation or leave. Ridiculous. Use your goddamn brain, wake up and see how stupid you sound. All you have to do, is to think, for like a second, before you resort to every knee jerk "I feel threatened so I'm going to use a childish defense mechanism," reaction. I assume you're an adult, act like one.

That would mean that all of that occurred under Obama! We could take it out of his pension, or, simply ask for the payments back! I mean, if the IRS or bank accidentally paid you a thousand dollars you didn't deserve, don't you think they'd be at you house asking for it back???

As to the trust your government part, who ever thought we could trust them? Problem is, all the other ones are even WORSE.

Jesus Christ, this is the only thought you posses. We get it you only care about the war on drugs...even though it's such a minuet part of our spending. I don't like the war on drugs, BUT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR ON DRUGS, what is your goddamn point. There are bigger fish to fry. 1/3 of governments tax receipts were SPENT ERRONEOUSLY. And you refuse to see any other spending problem outside of the war on drugs. Wake up to reality. 1.6 billion is coming from seized drug money yearly...but that's the only area we need cut spending? Not the 1 trillion in one year alone spent erroneously, which is equivalent to the actual amount we have spent total on the war on drugs since its inception... that's all you care about? Pull your cabeza out of your ass.

Dodaro said three big federal programs – Medicare, Medicaid and the Earned Income Tax Credit -- account for most (75 percent) of the improper payments. “But there are a number of programs across government where this problem is an issue,” he said.

We should be simplifying government on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States.

According to a 2008 study published by Harvard economist Jeffrey A. Miron, the annual savings on enforcement and incarceration costs from the legalization of drugs would amount to roughly $41.3 billion, with $25.7 billion being saved among the states and over $15.6 billion accrued for the federal government. Miron further estimated at least $46.7 billion in tax revenue based on rates comparable to those on tobacco and alcohol ($8.7 billion from marijuana, $32.6 billion from cocaine and heroin, remainder from other drugs).[122]--https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_on_Drugs#Costs_to_taxpayers

Our alleged, War on Drugs is both, unnecessary and improper.
