US gives nod to sale of F-16 equipment to Argentina

The US State Department Wednesday gave its nod to the possible sale of high-tech equipment for Argentina's F-16 combat aircraft. The US$ 941 million operation has the Fort Worth (Texas) based company Lockheed Martin as the primary contractor.


This is why the people in Argentina are getting upset with Milei. Massive cuts to social services, more than half the country living in poverty and then they spend 941 million dollars on 36 missiles and 102 500 pound bombs.

6.8 million per armament, and for what? Is Argentina under threat of invasion? And even if they were, would these 138 items turn the tide?

If one wanted to investigate possible conspiracy theories............Argentina is a large trading partner with China. They were swayed to purchase this to keep the U.S. from enacting sanctions.

Milei has been sucking up to the US since he took office. He just fired his Foreign Minister for daring to vote with most countries in the UN that the US should end its sanctions on Cuba.
