No DEMs will vote for it. Meaning he needs either 51 GOP Senators to vote for it OR 50 GOP Senators in a 50/50 tie with the DEMs, then and only then can the Vice president cast a tie breaking vote making it 51 to 50.

The Majority Whip is responsible for counting noses for the majority, you can bet the reason that it's not being discussed by the GOP is because they don't have the votes.

If Thune put such a rule change on the floor and lost, that would be a major defeat and loss of political capital.

He's not going to put it up to a vote.

Trump barely won in terms of the votes he got and the people sent basically an even split to both the House and the Senate.

Shut down law enforcement, the court, the airports, the rails, and the seaports, etc.

That will actually prevent shut downs.

Flights in the southeast were delayed earlier because of significant staffing shortages at the Atlanta Terminal Radar Approach Control.

Roughly 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration officers must work without pay after a budget impasse between Republican President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats triggered the shutdown.

The Trump administration has warned flight disruptions will increase as controllers miss their first full paycheck on Tuesday.

More than 8,800 flights were delayed on Sunday.

Its not a conspiracy. The subsidies were offsetting the increased cost Trump threw on the ACA by getting rid of the mandate and the CSRs.
