Children and grandchildren dont happen anymore by being passive. There is no societal pressure to engage in romantic or interpersonal relationships with others.
Without any friends....you dont have close friends....without friends you dont have "reccomend to date" lists....

In today's society....there is no dating.

The two MIGHT become the same....but in truth they are not.

It's like a phoney string of Pearl's and real Tahitian pearl strands....

I'm doing my part....lol....
My wife and I host at a minimum of 20 different, unique functions at our house that involve a minimum of 20 people....usually around 40. (We have a big house)

Now that doesn't include the other functions we attend (nowhere near as many).

Yes, most of us are GenX....but we force the kids and grandkids and any of our parents still living to attend these things. It's the best we can do...we make them fun and interesting and more than just eating and running.

My personal favorite is the gingerbread house party where I bake off enough gingerbread houses to build a subdivision and the parents just bring the kids.

Theres food of course for the adults....and lots of Christmas cookies.....

It's more or less a universal model that won't change. Many businesses are based on cheap labor, not market demand for the products. Dinner salads were unknown until someone figured out that lettuce can be grown cheaply by immigrant workers. Advertising and promotion did the rest.
