I'm not sure if you know her story with Charlie....but basically she flat out hunted him as women sometimes do with men.
She had a boyfriend when she first met charlie....and then overnight she didn't.

Just saying....I don't personally know all the ins and out of their relationship....but her hunting him is somewhat obvious.

Relationships today are ki d of scary. One looks at a couple and thinks they are doing OK. But on the inside it's turmoil. Most marriages are like that today it seems. A lot of stress. I saw my kids go through it. They became very unhappy once married.

Or we can just assimilate the immigrants we have. Not to mention the minorities we've kept in second-class citizenship for centuries.

When my Grandfather came here in 1925, he spoke very little English and had the contents of two steamer trunks to his name.

Today, no one in my family speaks German, we don't hold any alleigence to Germany, we've got an extended family that includes English, Irish, Dutch, Lithuanian, Polish, and Chinese.

Okay, serious note. The reality is, if we have perpetual Adolescence, it's because the One Percenters have destroyed the American Dream. (Aided and abetted by the Religious Right, of course).

Used to be, a man graduated from High School, got a good union job, got married (usually after knocking up his girlfriend) and raised a family as best he could.

Today, you can't really make it until you've gotten at least a bachelor's degree, and then you are spending a decade paying off your student loans, and then, maybe you can think about starting a family.

For a small percentage I think you are correct. Theres also a lot of young married people working really hard so they can afford a house, nice vehicles, vacations, etc. Some aren't having kids as they want other things in life. Can we blame them?

Actually we can blame their parents....
Owning nice schlock(stuff) is not better than having any or more children.
Life satisfaction is very consistent in this.
The entire generations that raised the current crop of adults currently not having children are to blame.

IOW we lied to our children....we may not have known we were lying, or whatever....but it's our fault.

We told women to get educated and get a career so you arent dependent upon a husband....
Never explaining that when women get those things they begin to raise their dissatisfaction with 95% of the Male population....meaning they have to find a hidden unicorn in a herd of jackasses...and then somehow give up her career and ladder climbing to raise the children until they start school.

We claimed that children were burdensome and they stole the joy from life. Made us poor to where we couldnt have anything nice. When the whole time they really were the object of the exercise. They are the reasons for climbing the career ladder...providing them the niceties of life and watching them secretly enjoy them. (Because they will do their best to not let you know)

I think you are misrepresenting the situation.

A declining population, is not the same as "their disappearance".

A generation that is a bit smaller than the previous one, is a problem. But, you seem to be assuming that people cannot change behavior.

Fetuses aren't people.

Reality is, 2/3rds of fertilized zygotes never attach to the uterine wall, and of those that do, 40% end in miscarriage or abortion.

Nobody is including tiny caskets with every box of tampons.

There is NOTHING I want our (or any) government to do with addressing the problem directly. Indirectly? Maybe....depends on who they want to screw over.

Redistributing wealth to the point of generously favoring child bearing parents is not going to do anything.

Strong arm tactics or browbeating people with zero desire to be parents does not help either. Usually causes a lot of resentment by EVERYONE involved including the "desired" children.

There are solutions....but not ones I think our government has the political willpower to perform.
