April 13 (Reuters) - Russia will view U.S. and NATO vehicles transporting weapons on Ukrainian territory as legitimate military targets, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told the TASS news agency in an interview on Wednesday.

Any attempts by the West to inflict significant damage on Russia’s military or its separatist allies in Ukraine will be “harshly suppressed,” he added.

“We are warning that US-NATO weapons transports across Ukrainian territory will be considered by us as legal military targets,” TASS quoted Ryabkov as saying.

“We are making the Americans and other Westerners understand that attempts to slow down our special operation, to inflict maximum damage on Russian contingents and formations of the DPR and LPR (Donetsk and Luhansk People’s republics) will be harshly suppressed,” he said.

Somebody pump the breaks on this crap.

Nato is already aware of these transports being targets. Can't think of a war when a weapons transport was not a target. So I think this is much ado about nothing.

If a NATO truck driver and interpreter are blown up hauling weapons along a Ukrainian highway 17 miles inside the Ukraine NATO ( and America ) won’t do shit ( or anymore than they are already doing

This most likely calls for high level talks between the US and Russia.

The mutually agreed upon rules of the war may need to be modified!

If not then America will have to accept the consequences. Russia can and will see it as legitimate to destroy weapons being transported in the Ukraine. They will have no choice.

Also fwiw, the Ukraine will already be heavily infiltrated by Russia's human intelligence on the ground.

Yes of course they will.

But to the topic: Could Russia ever agree to not take out arms shipments to the Ukraine. IMO it will only depend on Russia'a ability, after the intelligence pinpoints the location of the arms coming into the Ukraine.

That could require Russia's use of medium range ballistic missiles, which would open another can of worms.

Maybe the weapons convoys will need a little protection if they start getting blown up?

Russia, you want to start WWIII? This is how you start WWIII.

The Indiana National Air Guard is retiring a squadron of A-10s this week.

I wonder if there is any way we can transfer those A-10s to Ukraine? A lot of Russian tankers would have a bad day if we could.

I understand what he is saying but its bad idea for Putin to draw NATO maybe America into the war. he will lose if that happens.

It's been his goal from the beginning. But this is old news. They've already said this. In fact, they previously suggested that they would attack any shipments heading toward Ukraine, even before they reach the border.

Note: "special operation".

Once called a 'peacekeeping mission'.
Once called a "training exercise."

But, not called an 'invasion'.
Not called a 'war'.
Not called 'aggression'.

Not that any of that matters a whit.
A rose by any other name still smells like a rose.
Or a corpse.

That is my very humble opinion from about 5,200 miles away.

IMHO
