Saddam was a bad guy but Iraq War II was foolish. Many people died and Iran benefited.
Putin is a bad guy but the Ukraine War is foolish. Many people have died and China, America’s primary adversary, benefited.
Why would anyone support this avoidable war?

Ukraine war follows decades of warnings that NATO expansion into Eastern Europe could provoke Russia
Lost in the outrage over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the fact that many in the West have long warned that widespread NATO expansion into Eastern Europe could spark just such a conflict.theconversation.com

The Russians could have swept Kursk clean anytime they wanted but allowed it to reamin "as is" for stratic advantages. Eventually, we'll find out what those advantages are. BTW: Has anyone ever seen General Gerasimov smile?
Russian Troops Have Completely Liberated Kursk Region
April 26, 2025
President Vladimir Putin received a report from Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov (see the picture below) on the full liberation of the Kursk region. Putin emphasized that Ukraine’s military efforts had completely failed and that the liberation brings the end of the neo-Nazi regime closer. He congratulated the Russian forces for their courage, heroism, and service to the nation, noting that this victory paves the way for further successes on other fronts. The President praised the performance of the 76th Airborne Division, the 116th Division, the Akhmat Regiment, and the marines from the Black Sea and Pacific fleets.
General Gerasimov reported that the final settlement, the village of Gornal, was liberated on April 26.
The major phase of the operation began on March 6, leading to the destruction of Ukrainian forces, whose defense collapsed under Russian pressure. The Ukrainian plans to establish a strategic bridgehead and halt Russian advances in Donbass were decisively thwarted. Gerasimov also highlighted the contribution of North Korean soldiers, who, under a strategic partnership agreement, displayed resilience and bravery, significantly aiding Russian forces. Ukrainian losses were reported at over 76,000 killed and wounded.
Meanwhile, efforts to establish a security zone in Sumy region continue, with four settlements liberated and over 90 square kilometers secured. In the Kursk region, 19 settlements have been cleared of mines. Since Ukraine’s attempted invasion on August 6, 2024, Russian forces have reclaimed over 60 settlements, including Sudzha, with half liberated in the past two months during a major offensive.
