That’s right - you can’t and instead of simply admitting that Russia has no real democracy, no real criticism of Putin’s regime, no real competitive elections, you try to deflect.
Ukraine had real elections, real freedom of speech and real turn over of power before full scale Russian invasion triggered wartime status. Zelenskyy was elected in 2019 running on anti-corruption and conflict ending campaign.
You know when was the last time Russians actually voted in a change in power? NEVER. They vote for whatever is served up to them by whoever is already in power.
