We used our grocery store purchase accumulated 85 cents off per gallon yesterday to fill up the jeep. That brought the price per gallon for regular unleaded to $2.92. Guess we'll be buying a shit ton of turkeys and pounds of frozen shrimp to get more gas discounts.

IMHO, $10 gasoline is a guarantee of a world-wide depression that will last a very long time and would include the US. Too many small businesses would not survive, and all those employees would be out of work and stay that way. Those who believe the country could switch to renewable energy sources are delusional if they think it could realistically happen anytime soon.

There are a number of studies done about the correlation between oil prices and recessions/depressions, such as:

Right now, the average price of gas in the US is $3.54, if one considers the effect of almost tripling that price to $10, that would IMHO trigger very serious repercussions and not only here but everywhere else. Some say the 2008 recession was due at least in part to a spike in gas prices, the effects of which lasted for a long time. And by some measurements that recession actually was a depression and the thing is, that spike on prices back then was nowhere near a tripling of today's prices to $10.

Selling electric cars is a long term goal....in time, oil will naturally become unattainable due to oil shortages, or Opec p!aying, or wars, etc....causing us being priced out of it..... No one needs to just raise its price, it will rise on its own with world affairs.... Preparing for those days, is inciteful.

The keystone pipeline is running full force under Biden, he did NOT shut it down.

He stopped Keystone XL pipeline from being built to carry foreign shale oil from Canada to the gulf, where it would be sold to foreigners overseas.
