Bottom line is that Zelensky will sign a deal with Trump and Trump will negotiate a deal to stop the war. He could just stick with it and run with the EU plan, but he won’t because he isn’t that stupid. Democrats and lefty loons in Europe will complain that the deal was better for Russia and will blame Trump for getting a peace deal vs continuing to fight and spend $$$ and lives in an un-winnable war unless we are ready to put troops on the ground and start WWIII.

The reason Europeans don't like Trumps peace proposals is not that because we don't want peace, we all do, this war hurts us all.

The reason is that we don't trust Trump and we most definitely do not trust Putin.
The Russians are showing signs of cracking now, they have run out of soldiers at the front, Ukraine has started to push and at the same time Trump stop all the support for Ukraine, just when the Russians really need him to do that he does it. It's just super obvious Trump is a Kremlin asset that does what he can to aid their war effort. We are for sure going to see sanctions being lifted on the Russians next. The tariff war against his own allies that also support Ukraine is another thing Putin really really needs.

His peace deal also really favours the Russians, giving them what they want and need right now. And that's the second problem, that we don't trust Putin. He has been lying constantly since he took power in Russia. About Ukraine they constantly lied about not wanting to invade, even the very hours before they did, what Putin says can't be trusted, whatsoever. Any peace deal they sign will be used to rearm and reposition and then they're going to be at it again, they won't we happy until they have conquered Ukraine and then they will find new targets. The only thing currently preventing the Russians from invading Georgia, Moldova and seizing direct control over Kazackstan and Belarus is the war in Ukraine.

And Putins word on peace can't be trusted either. There have been many ceasefires during the war and every single time the Russians have broken them, they just used it to reposition themselves and then resumed firing on the Ukrainians. Making peace with them is like making peace with Hamas, it doesn't work, they just abuse it to get into a more favourable position.

This war would end if the Russians knew they couldn't win. If the west said "We're going to give the Ukrainians whatever they need" and then did that the Russians would have no chance, the only reason it has gone this good for them is beacuse Ukraine had been forced to fight with one hand tied behind their backs, always much less shells and ammunition, heavily restricted on how they could use their given weapons. The russians have waited it out, betting on the resolve of the west being weak, and they were right.

Now they have their man in the oval office and Ukraine's greatest support is gone, just in time for the russian war effort to be saved.

Its all plain lie. The Europeans just declared as official goal (as they did many times before) - "decolonisation of Russia" (i.e. genocide of Russians). And it means, that you just decided to commit mass-murder suicide. You want to "decolonise" Russia? Ok, you can try. It's your funerals. But you must understand that your armies will be defeated, your cities and towns burned down into the ash, you men will be killed, you women will be raped and your children will be orphaned.

If you are really determined, we can't change that outcome for you. All what we can do - we can minimise our own losses (by attacking you first).

They are, they have taken ridiculous casualties over the winter trying to gain ground against the Ukrainians but haven't much to show for it. The meatwave attacks are costly though and the Russians still technically deploy a volunteer army, they can't keep up with that cost forever and now Ukraine has started pushing them back in many areas where they have just gained ground.

The Ukrainians are not out by a long shot. Yeah their last attack was very accurate, almost like they have gotten help with intel from a previous ally of Ukraine.

Who has proclaimed this? Which country? What politican? Anyone? Beacuse the only time I've heard of decolonization of Russia it's about their government system, how it's centralized not even to their white Russian homeland but to Moscow specifically and how the rest of Russia functions essentially like colonies to the capital. People talking about this as a problem are usually russian themselves.

Russia is the last European empire still standing more or less intact. But no one talks about splitting them up. It's not the goal of anyone in Europe, we just want them to stay within their borders and preferrably to develop into a normal country, a country we can trade with and prosper together with. Claims to otherwise is bullshit.

And splitting them up into ethnic states would be a disaster, nukes in the hands of random warlors, a lot of smaller states warring each other and coming under the crushing dominance of China. It would bolster China like crazy and no one wants that.

And we don't want war with the Russians either, as I said, we want them to be normal, that's it.
