The law states that Asylum cases must be resolved in 180 days. The reality is, that it can take 4-7 years to resolve an asylum case. Trump and human reptile Steven Miller made things worse by dismantling a lot of the agencies that process asylum cases.

The other end of the asylum problem is that it's really vague as to what constitutes asylum. You had that idiot German family who got to stay here for 17 years because they didn't want their kids hearing about fairy tales in school. By the time USCIS finally ordered them to leave, there wasn't much point and they didn't.
