The better question is why did Trump do away with the plans Pres. Obama had in place just for a crisis like COVID. Trump said it was his vaccine and took the shot.

Pretty much all information from CDC and the rest of the government and media regarding Covid data was false. Omissions, exaggerations and outright lies. 2 medic friends of mine told me at the start that they had been instructed to code as many patients as possible with "having covid". That's why it was best described as the Scamdemic. Hospitals made tons of money, and patient care and public health were the last things on their list.
