Thanks for this eye opener -- context is always crucial. As the caption in the article put it, "Rather than present people's complexities, it's easier to just write them off". We see that a thousand times on this board every day.

I always heard Cobb was nasty but this "most racist player in baseball" is new to me. I thought that designation belonged to Cap Anson.
