"Palestinian" guide for jounalists, what words and definitions to use...

I don't do none of that crap, but considering that Elon really did nothing to Twitter but open it up to carry both sides of view on stories rather than shutting everyone out who presented an opposing POV, and that this drove a lot of left-learning users off the site, I doubt Elon ruined anything, except for that small group of people who only want to hear the one side and try to isolate themselves from people who differ from them.
OK, so one way Elon ruined Twitter was by allowing someone to buy the verification that you once had to earn.

So now, it's impossible to trust what you read there because anyone with $50 can pretend to be a verified journalist.

Also, it already carried both sides. It was all there anyway. The gripe was that the personal logarithms were prioritizing verified content and creators the user followed over unverified ones the user didn't. For Nazis, Islamists, pedos, and the worst of humanity, visibility is more important than credibility.

So it always comes back to that question of access and what you trade for it.

Well, I cannot speak to all of their reporting as I've only seen a little. But apparently when they are not reporting on Israel, they can be not too bad.
Ehhh...so they're not really that great if they're openly slanting their coverage of Israel. That shows bias and it's propaganda. That's not journalism.

But Bush did win, didn't he?
We will never know for sure because the counting in Florida was stopped by the Supreme Court which based its decision, partially, to Fox News calling the race for Bush early.

Most everyone accuses Israel of that, no less the democrat party.
Right, but that doesn't make it true. Which is the point. It's not a journalist's job to repeat accusations, it's a journalist's job to determine if those accusations are true. The process stops before it gets to that point because journalists fear they will lose their access if they don't play ball, and that is a systemic failure.

I would not know, all I can say is that judging by the news coverage these day from bona fide journalists, I can't imagine many transient interlopers doing much worse.

I don't pay much attention to official credentials as much as I do the quality of their content and substance in what they say and how well it comports with other sources of known facts.

Look at Trump: zero prior experience in politics or Washington, an "unprofessional" politician, really just a real estate developer, and yet here he is getting things done and in ways no other president in my life has done making a shamble of most presidents going back at least to LBJ.

Take the border: I listened for at least 30 years of presidents saying how the border needed closed and enforced, yet here, finally, is a guy who just went out in Week 1 and did it.

Except that they can and do. And we see that in particular when it comes to the coverage of 10/7 and Israel's response. Or when it comes to our elections.

Well, in order to get the verification they had to have quality of their content and substance. That was the whole point of verification; so if there are no longer verification standards, then it's just USMB, which is not the place you want to go to find accurate news.

Slow down there, because Trump has pretty much failed at everything he's ever done. There is no metric he can point to that shows he's improved anything since being President. None. At all. He's just enriched himself and pardoned his criminal friends.

He is the worst President I've seen in my lifetime, and he might be the worst President in history. I for one cannot wait until he dies of an aneryism on the toilet trying to push out a Big Mac turd. When Trump goes, the rest of the GOP and Conservative movement goes with him. Thank God.

There is only a crisis on the border when Republicans need there to be for politics.

Truth is that preventing people from coming into the country by building a fence doesn't actually stop people from coming into the country.

If you truly wanted to end undocumented migration, you would go after the businesses that hire these people under the table, illegally. That never happens. Instead, the undocumented person bears all the punishment. Fines are just tax write-offs to businesses. If you want to truly stop undocumented migration, you'd throw all the CEO's of those companies that hire these people in prison alongside rapists and murderers and gang members.

THAT
is how you stop the "problem" of undocumented workers. Make examples of the people who hire them illegally. Double-digit prison sentences, 10-15 years for each undocumented worker you hire, with no option for parole. Serve the full term in prison...a real one, not a white collar one.

I guarantee if that became the standard, you will see a dramatic decline in undocumented workers.
