Koshergrl I feel like you are lying. Most Native American tribes don't marry inter racially due to the idea of preservation their bloodline besides what "hispanics" are you talking about? Mexicans? Mexicans are a mixed people and most tribal leaders don't want to "water down" their gene pool.

Theres not alot of Natives left, and maybe Mexicans are more acceptable because they are a mixed people like you said alot of them have some kind of Indian blood in there from somewhere.

When my son's best friend shot himself, we had lots & lots of rez kids at the house for a wake the night BEFORE the funeral, as the day of the funeral, everyone was going to gramma's house.

Anyway, it was almost all gang (the one I said was sitting in prison for murder was there, with his family and all his gang buddies, sitting around, glaring, acting tough). I have pics of them flashing gang signs at the funeral.

Yes, there are probs on reservations...Pine Ridge is an example of poor people, and even my husbands family in arizona ...some are poor, but the elders have much sway and are not the hollywood version of drunk indians. My husbands niece is on the council...his uncle as well. And, his tribe is a mixture because when they were all shoved on the rez, they shoved any tribe in one spot..whether they were enemies of each other or not.

There aren't many male elders, they tend to die fairly young, they have assorted health issues.
