Twisting, bastardizing, the fact of history for one's own purposes is a perq the Left has by its ownership of academia, and of the media.
1. Today, for example, is start of the Battle of Gettysburg.....a momentous event in the 'fine' that our nation paid for the crime of slavery.

"The Battle of Gettysburg (locally /ˈɡɛtɪsbɜːrɡ/ (
listen))[11] was fought July 1–3, 1863, in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, by Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The battle involved the largest number of casualties of the entire war and is often described as the war's turning point. "
Wikipedia
I've walked that battlefield several times. Every American should visit.
2. "At least 620,000 combatants died during the four-year struggle; recent estimates put the total closer to 750,000, or more than 2 percent of the nation’s population at that time. More soldiers died in prison camps alone than America lost during the entire Vietnam War. Perhaps more to the point, some 350,000 Union soldiers died during the conflict, abolitionists in effect if not always in intent. Adjusted for population, that would amount to almost 5 million service deaths today, amounting to a blood sacrifice more than sufficient to redeem whatever moral or intellectual inconsistencies there are to be found in America’s founding documents.
And if that’s not sufficient? Well, then, nothing will be. But for most Americans—and for much of the rest of the world—it is more than enough. "
Blood Redemption
3. Before anyone should fall deeper into the 'white guilt' or 'white privilege' propaganda, consider the white folks who paid with their lives to assuage the debt.
And keep in mind which part created it, and which part paid it.
4. The Democrats are not only responsible for the problem, but their policies have added this:
Promoted bogus anti-police hatred, while ignoring some 350,000 blacks killed by lawless blacks.
324,000 U.S. Blacks Killed by Blacks In Only 35 Years
Planned Slaughtrehood kills 40% of the black population.
5. Never forget that Gettysburg was to give black American freedom, and what we are witnessing in the streets today is the Democrat's continued efforts to use blacks to attain Democrat Power
