Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday introduced his own version of a bill to increase the $600 stimulus checks from the coronavirus relief package to $2,000, but also included two other major priorities for President Trump.


The legislation would also repeal Section 230, the controversial liability protection for online platforms, and create a committee on the Election Assistance Commission to study election integrity.

It is purposely designed to fail. He included things that Democrats would never agree with, and that have nothing to do with Covid or people receiving financial help.
The 230 thing has nothing to do with Covid.

There's no pork in this bill. Pork is money that is paid for special interests and lobbyists. The two extra Provisions in this bill are the provisions that the president requested when he submitted his redlined version of the Covid relief Bill to Congress after signing it. He signed it based on representations from Congress that they would consider his revisions, including removing wasteful spending, revising or removing section 230, and investigating election fraud. The house did none of that. So McConnell is attempting to honor two of those requests with this counter bill.
