"To those of you here or those watching at home who are independent-minded people like myself, who love our country and are committed to the Constitution and to freedom, the Democratic Party has no home for people like us," Gabbard said. "But we do have a home in the Republican Party where we are welcomed with open arms by President Trump."
"I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party," she added.
Smaller government and more individual freedom while placing America first matches up much more closely with the GOP than the Democrat Party, the latter of which wants government infiltration into all areas of our lives and is focused on the interests of foreigners - such as the illegals - over those of Americans.

In many ways the nation has moved so far left that many Republican agendas seem to be actually left leaning Republican flank and right leaning Democrat flank. This due to the Democratic Party now being far left of their left flank. We are at least half socialist in the size and scope of the total federal, state, local and city governments with any organizations that cross their jurisdictions. So, if you say that, and Republicans fail at even this what does that leave their voters? Do hardliners run and start winning? Do their voters rise up and get violent?
