Tucson Teachers mocking Charlie's murder with costumes that read "Problem Solved" and blood down the left side of their shirts.

Hideous! Is this a really new thing, brought to the public? I searched, but could find no local news story, with reaction of school board, or public, in any actual news outlet.

Indeed, the school district from top down just doesn't get it.
SOLVING TOUGH MATH PROBLEMS! These people just don't get it, neither now nor last year.

Here is what I came across:

Dear Vail Parents and Families,

We’re writing to inform you about a situation that has been circulating on social media involving members of Cienega High School’s math department.
A photo showing teachers wearing shirts that say “Problem Solved” has caused confusion and concern. We want to clarify that these shirts were part of a math-themed Halloween costume meant to represent solving tough math problems. The shirts were never intended to target any person, event, or political issue.

Unfortunately, the image is being shared online with false claims that they were intended as a statement of recent events in our country. This is unequivocally untrue. The shirts were purchased online and were also worn last year as part of the same math-themed costumes, long before recent events. For anyone questioning the validity that the shirts were worn last year, I am happy to provide the photo to you.

We understand how this image could be misunderstood and taken out of context, especially by people who are not associated with the teachers or the school. We are truly sorry for the hurt or upset it has caused.

The teachers involved care deeply about their students and this community. Many have served Vail families for years. All of them are committed to protecting children, and none of them would intentionally cause hurt or pain. They too are truly sorry that this has caused concerns. The shirts will not be worn again. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from this experience and ask for your grace as we do so.

We are also saddened that our teachers are now receiving hurtful messages and online harassment as a result of this misunderstanding. We want to be clear - personal attacks, threats, or doxxing are never acceptable and do not reflect the values of our community. All threats are being reported to the police.

We appreciate those who reached out with their concerns and hope this message provides clarity and reassurance. The Vail School District remains committed to maintaining safe, supportive school communities where every student and staff member feels respected and valued.

Just saw that on Taz's last post. I think he lives somewhere in that state, so pays attention to local stories of import, not only locally in his area, but being of national interest. I doubt anybody buying the explanation, that the shirts support math problem-solving.

By not using CK's name, they can say whatever they want to.
They're not fooling anyone, but themselves.

I was neither a fan nor a detractor of Kirk. I knew who he was. I listened to a few reels of him on social media having his discussions with college students. I thought he made some good points at times. What happened to him was tragic, but I also don't expect the event of his death to significantly alter the average American's daily life.

That said, I can't understand people like this. This is a psychopathy. We're not talking about the mocking of the brutal murder of a dictator or despot or the execution of a serial killer. We're talking about the murder of a man who held political opinions that millions of others hold as well, but these people just happened to not agree with. I saw stuff like this all over social media in the immediate aftermath, especially on TikTok. What's alarming is how much of this psychosis is present in the education system in this country. It's almost daily that I'm seeing another video or article of a school teacher behaving in a vile manner in public or being caught in some perverted act public or private. I can't imagine any of the teachers I had as a kid acting like this. It was unheard of when I was a kid. What has happened to our teaching profession? When did the bar get lowered so low that it hit bottom and allowed these types of people to be in a classroom?

...Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet initially criticized teachers at an Arizona high school on Saturday, saying their costumes appeared to mock the death of Kirk, but he partially retracted those remarks after it was revealed that the costumes had been worn in previous years, before Kirk’s death.

Superintendent John Carruth of the Vail School District issued a statement confirming that the image originates from Cienega High School’s math department. The school pushed back on the claim that the shirts referenced the death of Kirk.

Carruth said the shirts are part of a recurring math-themed Halloween joke, a play on “problem solved.”

“The shirts were worn in reference to solving math problems. Any reference that these shirts were related to something other than that are simply false and untrue,” Carruth wrote in a post on Facebook.

He noted that similar shirts have appeared in photographs from previous years, long before the death of Kirk.

“These shirts were worn both this and last year as part of math-themed Halloween costumes and were not intended as a reference to any person, event, or political issue,” Carruth said...

That they wore the shirts in the past, before Kirk's murder, doesn't help much. They failed to read the room for sure.

Yeah, I saw that earlier today. Given the number of people in academia who have been acting completely unhinged in recent years, I'm not surprised that parents responded to this suspicious and alarmingly, however.

How is blood down the left side of a shirt relevant to making a statement about math? If a bunch of math teachers wear a shirt about in reference to solving math problems, fine. Having blood blood imagery down the side of it is absolutely disturbing.

So, if they are able to deflect and diffuse any reference to the Charlie Kirk assassination, the imagery is still disturbing and they need a psychological evaluation.

If the recent Charlie Kirk shooting wasn't enough to think twice, Vail isn't all that far from where Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot at a Tucson Safeway parking lot during a public appearance.

The stupidity of these people is beyond comprehension.

It’s a Xpost.

Absolutely zero credibility.

The really sad thing is that so many on this forum took this lie at face valid and didn’t bother to fact check it.

The world that you belittle turned out to be the whole world

No, it’s actually a very narrow, very parochial world that exists almost entirely in the American south and parts of the Midwest and far west.

They’re the same people whose grandparents listened to Father Couglin,

The message hasn’t changed.

It's why public education is a complete mess. No parent should want these loons anywhere near their child

The outpouring of support for Charlie Kirk was instant and international

True. And the fact that some on here try to excuse and rationalize this discussting behavior is also an indication of the failures of some in modern society.

In their defense their shirts nor anything else references CK or TPUSA, and unless brought up I wouldn't have a clue about the left side thing, plus sounds like they have dressed up annually.

Inversely whats with the fake blood on the left side? If there is another pic or explanation (all pulling on an imaginary tug of war rope for example) then cool, else Lucy you got splainin to do. It appears the pic was taken on campus judging from the background.

1st, they need to explain the joke to everyone.

2nd, they need to validate that they have photographs of the years before of them doing this.
