I've been up close and personal many times with TSA rent a cops at Lambert before I figured out how to stop flying, and I can state as an absolute fact that they do have cuffs on their belts. One was even twirling them on his fingers as he was walking down the East Terminal concourse while I was waiting for a flight to Louisville. I guess he was trying to look like a bad-ass western sheriff, in search of a duel.

The COTUS allows people the freedom to waive their rights. The rules and regs that you agree to when you purchase the ticket includes waivers that allow them to search you.

If you go to a major sports event, or concert, the ticket to that will have similar language, which allows them to search attendees bags and pat them down.
