Excellent editorial today by Victor Davis Hanson.

Honestly, I sometimes find him both pedantic and redundant - but this one is fascinating.

Essentially he's pointing out that nobody knows what happens next - because Trump is so different from any President that came before him.

But we do know that the self-proclaimed "experts" in the media keep getting it wrong - and every day more and more "Normies" are waking up to this fact - inevitably altering the trajectory of our politics forever.

He begins with the issue of immigration, and then extrapolates from there - but it's not too lengthy.

Here's a little taste:

Donald Trump’s far-ranging counter-revolution, to quote the old Star Trek mission statement, seeks “To boldly go where no one has gone before.”

Because no conservative president has dared to question the last 70 years of progressive cultural, social, economic, and political dominance, all traditional wisdom, all our renowned “experts,” and all the self-described “authorities” have no real credibility in their mostly flawed analyses and wrong prognoses.

Read what our legacy media predicted in March for this summer’s economy, or in January for the future of the border, or what would happen should the U.S. Air Force enter Iranian airspace.

Take the border. “Comprehensive immigration reform” (a euphemism for rolling amnesties and a still-open border) was the establishment’s answer to 10,000 foreign nationals storming the border during peak surges of the Biden administration.

But no president had ever simultaneously 1) pressured Mexico to close its borders and patrol ours, 2) announced a plan to complete a border wall along the entire US-Mexico boundary, 3) stopped catch-and-release, 4) ceased refugee applications after illegally entering the U.S., 5) introduced policies encouraging voluntary self-deportation, and 6) prevented all illegal entries at the border.

The result is that we do not know the full effects of these combined border policies.

So far, one million foreign nationals have lost jobs, and 2 million Americans have gained them since Trump’s inauguration. How much money will be saved in local, state, and federal entitlements if illegal immigrants return home?

How much trauma and costs will be avoided if 500,000 criminal aliens are deported?

How many serious and lethal hit-and-run accidents will be prevented?

To what degree will the idea of citizenship be reenergized once it is not reduced to the equivalency of mere residence?

How many emergency rooms will have more space for U.S. citizens? No one knows, but the consequences could be enormous.

And here is the conclusion:

Structural changes across the economy, culture, and politics of the country are underway. Our bicoastal experts and authorities are mostly predicting a multifaceted systems failure—without explaining why or how.

Yet the only constant in their predictions is that when and if they prove wrong, they will not pivot, correct, or apologize, but simply move on to their next flawed prognosis, fortified by their titles and letters after their names—but otherwise little else.

It's a pretty safe bet for those of us who are rational and can objectively observe how this has all played out over the last decade:

America is heading for greatness we have not witnessed in our lifetimes.

And the Left will be dragged along kicking and screaming into the next American renaissance.

Trump is the second worst president ever

Liked this part. I'll be honest, I do not like Donald Trump and I'm not comfortable with some of his policies or methods, but the democrats' alternative is just plain awful. I cannot support their agenda.

Finally, we have never seen anything quite so radical as the new Democratic Party, at least not since the McGovern blowout of 1972. In its 24/7, 360-degree fixation on hating Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda, rarely has a party embraced signature policies that are so despised by the American people. As a result, we have no idea what the result will be other than a national implosion at the polls.

Why would any political party embrace open borders, the influx of 12 million illegal aliens, 600 sanctuary cities, biological men dominating women’s sports, dismantling the oil, gas, coal, and nuclear industries, prosecutors who release rather than indict and convict violent criminals, defunding the police, tribal fixations and racial spoils systems in defiance of the Supreme Court, the terrorists of Hamas over democratic Israel, and overt campus anti-Semitism?

And the Left will be dragged along kicking and screaming into the next American renaissance.
But not a word about what could happen if the US military crosses over Iran's borders?
Just the question and then it being ignored?

How many of the Zionists' F-35's did Syria shoot down?

I can't think of anyone else who would have taken on the corrupt media/academia/judicial system, etc., and two assassination attempts with never ending lawfare against him and continue to fight and win.

Just when you think you couldn’t be surprised, a new assholes shows up spouting complete and total nonsense. I mean this dude needs to go back and read Homer. I mean a Phd in “Classics”---normally those of you on the right would hound someone for taking such a worthless major. But sure enough, tell the dumasses what they want to hear and they will parade you around like you won the World Cup single handedly.

I mean we can start at the beginning,

So far, one million foreign nationals have lost jobs, and 2 million Americans have gained them since Trump’s inauguration. How much money will be saved in local, state, and federal entitlements if illegal immigrants return home?

Look, he might not be far off with the million foreign nationals losing their jobs, well, by not far off I mean he might be half right. But two million Americans have gained jobs? That claim is batshit crazy, has no basis whatsoever in reality. I mean come on, didn’t we just go over the numbers last week?

How much money will be saved in local, state, and federal entitlements? Not a damn thing, when weighed against the probable cost of Trump’s policies, like loss in GDP growth and decreased productivity. I would love to spend time explaining that one to you but I know you wouldn’t give a damn.

How much trauma and costs will be avoided if 500,000 criminal aliens are deported?

Well hell, I would say quite a bit. But the number, again, has no basis whatsoever in reality. Trump won’t deport half that number of people, criminals and non-criminals alike, all flippin damn year. And I don’t know how many times I have to say this, Biden did a much better job of deporting criminals.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Statistics

Hell, look at the damn numbers. “Removals over Time”. Biden deported over 65,000 convicted criminals in his last year. Trump, so far, 17,000. How in the sam hell is he going to get to half a million.

And emergency rooms, is this guy for real. When millions of people lose their health insurance, and millions more lose Medicaid, you going see some full ass emergency rooms. As if illegal immigrants go to the emergency room for routine health care. They go to the “Mexican” doctor, hell, I did too years ago when I didn’t have health insurance.

Small office above the drug store. Cash only. And a damn good doctor. When he wrote you a prescription, it was for some drug that had been out a least a decade, cost next to nothing. He didn’t prescribe the latest and greatest, and oh yeah, no drug reps ever came calling.

And then he starts talking about tariffs.

But do they really know the profit margins of our mercantile importers, who tariff our goods but expect easy entry for their exports to the U.S.?

Look, here is where he reveals himself as either a total fool, or a total con artist. He has a Phd in Classics. I got one word for his stupid ass, “Oeconomicus”. No way in hell he doesn’t know who Xenephon was. Which means, he is blowing smoke up your ass.
And then he talks about education, specifically, higher education. At that point, well he is merely preaching to the choir, telling you right wing nut jobs what you want to hear. In the midst of all that total horseshit, diversity bad, meritocratic admissions, blah, blah, blah. He rips off this diddy,

What is so wrong with curbing the tuition gouging and profiteering off foreign students, and limiting their numbers to ensure access to underserved, deserving Americans?

Underserved and deserving Americans? Who the **** is going to pay for it? How do you think Universities provide aid to those underserved and deserving Americans now? Through foreign students that pay full cost, and their Endowments, that this moron wants to tax.

Honestly, it is hard to believe anyone could be this stupid.

I stopped here.

I was a Democrat when I graduated college in 2000 - and only became a Republican five years ago.

It's your close minded, misguided, ignorant snobbery which repels so many.

And you can barely even type.

The stupidity isn't hard to believe. Both Biden's and Trump's claims of deporting essential workers is just blowing smoke.

Deporting 100,000 would result in a billion less cabbages being picked. in season.

Here's some more stupid! The party in power deports a few thousand and the party not in power lets them back in legally as fast as possible to keep the cabbage trucks rolling.

You stopped? So, not only do you read Hanson's complete article, you think so much about it that you post it up. But you can't read my rebuttal? And you call me close minded, what a damn hoot. Well, I was a Republican when I graduated from college in 1984, although I was already leaving. I worked for the John Anderson campaign in 1980, I guess he was the Bernie Sanders of the time. No way he could be a member of the Republican party today. And those last two years in college, well I did much of the grunt work for the Reagan administration, working under the head of Reagan's OMB. I was the numbers cruncher that no one wanted to listen to. Reagan's numbers didn't add up and I was pretty vocal about it. Looking back, those numbers never mattered anyway.

Here is the point, that Hanson dude, he absolutely knows he is spouting nonsense, take this passage,

In the last 50 years, affirmative action transmogrified into DEI racial separatism, chauvinism, and a system of reparatory spoils, played and manipulated by grifters, opportunists, and fakers, from Elizabeth Warren-style phonies and Jussie Smollett-like con artists to opportunists like Zohran Mamdani who game the system.

He is just telling you what you want to hear. It is not logical. It makes no sense. His numbers are completely fabricated. And if that came from a toboggan wearing high school drop-out with a You tube channel collecting money from Russia, well it might be understandable. But from someone with a Phd in "The Classics", it makes no damn sense whatsoever. He knows he is blowing smoke up your ass, all the way to the damn bank. Me, I never would have left my orchard. In the end, you have to feel good about what you do.

You stopped? So, not only do you read Hanson's complete article, you think so much about it that you post it up. But you can't read my rebuttal?

I could read your rebuttal, but I couldn't imagine a more vacuous waste of time.

Therefore, incidentally, I also did not read the rest of this post either.

Rebuttal? You provided a long winded rant that is a long winded contradiction. I stopped reading after your second rant stating nothing more than, "no he is wrong"

Nothing but a rant

The definition of "head up your ass".

Sorry.

But when your opening statement is frontloaded with priggish presumption regarding your would-be interlocutor, it strongly detracts from any desire I may have had to entertain the rest of your self-absorbed idiocy.

Perhaps address that first, and then I'll be happy to parlay with you.

But do you really care? ;)
