No... go study up on it. The House seats are all up for grabs every 2 years. The Senate is staggered and the balances of seats for each party change every couple of years. In 2016, the Democrats had far more chances to flip republican seats in the Senate. In 2018, they have to defend 23 seats and only 8 republican seats they can flip... all of those are in relatively safe red states. So the Senate is safe in 2018, the dems can only lose seats there. In the House, they could make gains but it would take something like the '94 Republican Revolution to swing the House to democrats and that ain't gonna happen.

You say Trump is unpopular. I guess this is because you're relying on polls? But I just watched Trump deliver a speech to CPAC, a place he would've been booed off the stage last year at, and they gave him a standing ovation. I can assure you, in spite of what the fake news tells you, Trump is winning people over in droves and that is only going to get better as the left continues to lose it's collective mind.

The last time the Democrats went this radically left was in 1968. They scared mainstream blue collar Americans so bad they elected Richard Nixon twice in landslides. That is what is what is about to clobber you over your silly head in 2018. I did mention trade policy. Germany is part of the EU, which is the biggest free trade partnership in the world. They've been it's biggest advocate, probably because they are getting more out of it than the British or the French or the Greeks.

The thing is, Germany invested in all the things that made it competitive. We didn't. So while Hans had the skills to run the next generation of manufacturing technology, Cleetus in Jesusland was whining about why he can't get a good job because they brought in Pradip from India.

Again, assuming that we are going to slip back into recession within the next year, and the fact that Trump is massively unpopular, you could see something like 1994 or 1974.

Meanwhile, when the ACA doesnt' get repealed and the jobs don't come back to Jesusland like Trump promised, I don't think the folks in Jesusland are going to be too keen to show up. They might even nominate someone so radical in the primaries that can't win in the general no matter how the district is drawn.
