Trump's New Jersey Golf Club is holding a fundraiser for J6 rioters. He and Giuliani are listed as "invited."
Do you think this is good timing for Trump to hold something like this at one of his properties?

A non-profit that supports Jan. 6 riot defendants is hosting a fundraiser next month at former President Trump's New Jersey golf club.
The big picture: Organizers dubbed the event as the "J6 Awards Gala," with a flyer that prominently features a photo of Trump and his former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, saying they're invited guest speakers.
Zoom in: The event, hosted by the Stand in the Gap Foundation, is scheduled to take place on Sept. 5 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, per the event page.
- Asked by Axios whether Trump would attend, the Trump campaign said he would not.
- Representatives for Giuliani, the golf club and the nonprofit holding the event did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment.
- "The funds raised will provide much-needed assistance to the January 6th defendants who continue to face significant challenges," organizers said.
- Tickets range from $1,500 a person to $50,000 for a table of 12.
