Trump's moves on RACE

IM, now sign in as Marc_ATL.

What is “his” opinion on all of this?

You need a new hobby.

Nope. But this country did rob Black Americans of wealth through racist segregationists policies.
Like Ben Carson and Robert Johnson?
Those were the times in an all white nation…We didn’t want black folks or brown folks here at all..for obvious reasons found in all data worldwide.
BUT….how do you suppose so many dark people were able to overcome the old days while you and IM2 are still standing here begging with a sad face and an open hand out?

That's not in Trump's skill set. I think plenty of liberals are ready to hear the "whys" of all this, to consider different ways of dealing with racism and bigotry. But Trump isn't capable of, and doesn't seem interested in, real leadership. He's just going to hack and slash and drive everyone into their respective corners.
He's not capable of serious conversation with intelligent people.

As far as the Left is concerned, with exceptions like Carville and Maher, they're not even considering changes. It's like their tactics are just baked in, and that's that.

Once in a while I'll see them admit they're losing minority men to the GQP, but it's never because men are sick of what the Left is selling.

Issac Newton and James Madison discussed diversity.

Issac Newton encouraged diversity of thought and helped establish the scientific method.

James Madison actually freed a slave, but was a slave owner. One of the most important founding fathers.

If they got married would they be James Newton or Issac Madison? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah. I wasn't really talking about pundits or party leaders. But I think much of the rank and fail know that identity politics is a losing game.

Do you not understand just how many handouts whites have been given and that your opposition to equal opportunity is whites begging for more handouts?

Why do whites continue to ignore the 259 years worth of identity politics they have played?

Only if you imagine your own meaning you frail fucker you.

I meant I don't really care how it's implemented. Whether it's a lump sum or a combination of money and social initiatives and programs, or the length of time it's to be implemented. I certainly do care that it's adequate to address the injustice that Black Americans have faced.

Don't be too frail to take on real arguments you soft Simps.

My own meaning of 'I don't care how it works'???? :auiqs.jpg: That's a good one!

We've had social initiatives and programs for decades, there was something called the Civil Rights Act that were all adequate to address any prior injustices.

I think it's humorous that you always have to insult and call names, i.e. you love the word 'frail' for some reason, I guess it beats having to come up with an actual reasoned response though. :dunno:

You are mentally retarded. Where did Obama create racism where it never existed?

Cops have been hated for decades before Obama.

Blacks aren't the paranoid ones here.

I like the way you got on your knees for those Capitol cops, though. Very "Uncle Tom" of you...

In a white nation why wouldn’t whites get the “handouts”?

Beats me. I'm not ignoring them. I want to end identity politics.

Racism is a mental disorder. Broke loser is proof.

Mac1958,

Explain what identity politics are and why yu can't see that the right plays more of it. Carville and Maher are wrong. The only minority men that voted for Trump were Hispanics. 4 out 5 black men voted for Harris. So why do you continue repeating the rhetoric of the American right that says we must cater only to white men? That we must not make white men angry no matter what white men say and do?

My biggest disappointment with Barack Obama was the fact that no American President has ever been better-equipped to firmly address America's profound racial issues, and he essentially voted "present" instead of tackling them head on.

Biden? Uh, no.

On the other hand, and this is not easy for me to say, Donald Trump does find himself in a position to address race. Why that is, is a separate issue. But the way he's handling it -- decrees that just summarily wipe away any number of issues centering around race -- is a mistake. Instead, he could be carefully explaining WHY he believes that initiatives like DEI are not in America's best interests, and neither are they in the best interest of those they purport to be "helping". Isn't that the point of all this?

The opportunity is right there, waiting for him. But he's not taking it. Obviously he personally doesn't have the capacity to communicate these things contemporaneously, but that's not necessarily needed. He can do it in a speech that is carefully written for him (as long as he sticks to the words, of course). Get the ideas out into society, get Americans to talk to each other about it. But it has to start with Trump.

Instead, they're just going to cram this stuff down the country's throat, with no explanations, no discussion, no communication. It's a terribly wasted opportunity.

I am against voting for someone merely to make one group of Americans better than other groups. No reason we can't all be lifted up. A president should be president for all Americans, not just minorities.
