A business cannot say that to a person who wasn't hired. That is a violation of employment law. So if a business is 90 percent white and they hire a black person instead of another white one, they aren't practicing discrimination against whites.

My biggest disappointment with Barack Obama was the fact that no American President has ever been better-equipped to firmly address America's profound racial issues, and he essentially voted "present" instead of tackling them head on.
Biden? Uh, no.
On the other hand, and this is not easy for me to say, Donald Trump does find himself in a position to address race. Why that is, is a separate issue. But the way he's handling it -- decrees that just summarily wipe away any number of issues centering around race -- is a mistake. Instead, he could be carefully explaining WHY he believes that initiatives like DEI are not in America's best interests, and neither are they in the best interest of those they purport to be "helping". Isn't that the point of all this?
The opportunity is right there, waiting for him. But he's not taking it. Obviously he personally doesn't have the capacity to communicate these things contemporaneously, but that's not necessarily needed. He can do it in a speech that is carefully written for him (as long as he sticks to the words, of course). Get the ideas out into society, get Americans to talk to each other about it. But it has to start with Trump.
Instead, they're just going to cram this stuff down the country's throat, with no explanations, no discussion, no communication. It's a terribly wasted opportunity.

And what should not be here according to the way this place was inhabited before whites floated over here believing they found a new world are 200 million whites. Those "hispanics" were here before the white man. What whites have done has created a system that has probably lost more than 200 trillion dollars since this nation began, and over 50 trillion in the last 35 years. Your racism has created the richest nation in the world that is in perpetual debt. So common sense has nothing do with the delusion you and trump believe about this country.
I got a first hand education in racism growing up. I was born in Detroit. My neighborhood quickly turned all black after the first black moved in. So I saw what white flight does. I also saw blacks are racist too when they have the power to be.
Then I moved out to all white Metro Detroit FINALLY we got out. Then I witnessed how ignorant white boys are raised to be racist by their parents. Kids who've never seen a black person before had real bad views of blacks. From what their parents told them. Some of it's true but still, it's racist to paint them all with that brush.
Then these white boys grow up and get the hiring managers job. Do you think they are going to hire a black person?
Look. I get it. I've known way too many blacks to threaten to sue when they got fired. For discrimination. If I were a hiring manager, I'd be worried about that too. You don't have to worry about that with whites. We just take it like men.
And I get it. Women are going to quit on you after 5 years to have kids. Even if they say they won't, they probably will. So you don't fast track them for upper management. Because you know they're going to quit on you.
Blacks don't show up early, stay late, take on the hard assignments. It's not that someone just picks a white guy and says HIM. That white guy has put in the hours. Not too many black guys putting in the hours in corporate America. They are lazy, show up late, and not the sharpest tools in the shed. Usually.
