From the first day Trump entered office he has spent like a drunken sailor. In 2016 the US deficit was ~ $587 B/yr. Currently, before this virus hit at was estimated to be around $1+ Trillion/yr. All that debt and Trump still couldn't achieve 3% growth annually.
US deficit surges 25% in fiscal 2020 and is $1.1 trillion over the past year
The US government is going to have to spend hundreds on billions to combat this virus, and then probably trillions on massive fiscal stimulus. AND we are most likely going into a recession which will produce another massive revenue shortfall.
When the dust settles the US deficit could be $3 trillion a year now... Yikes!
There is no way to come back from this. Trump has bankrupt our country. Many clueless people have said "We need to run our country like a business" No successful business operates this way, now we see why Trump had to declare bankruptcy so many times.
The damage Trump has done to America is only now going to be realized. He could be worse than Bush.
