1. You are losing massive casualties and irreplaceable equipment. You can’t sustain an indefinite war.
2. The US along with NATO prepared to support Ukraine indefinitely. This is your chance to get out.

Surrender 1/3 of your captured territory
Agree to a demilitarized zone
Offer Ukraine security. If you can’t, NATO membership will be that security

It is of common sense to let regions have their sphere of influence. It is cheaper than having an empire that spends itself into oblivion and slow death as it cannot afford it. You guys do not even want Europe to pay their fair share for NATO. And the dangerous admittance of new nations into it abutting the Russians.
