China appears to have quietly rolled back retaliatory tariffs of 125% on some semiconductors made in the US, according to details provided to CNN on Friday by three import agencies in the southern technology hub of Shenzhen, as Beijing tries to soften the blow of an ongoing trade war on its all-important tech industry.

Tariffs mean manufacturers relocate here with some have already done. Tariffs mean that citizens of the United States get jobs. This is the way it was in the 1950s and 60s until we allowed China to fly to America with cheap goods. Unions were strong and regular citizens, including blacks got jobs rather than illegal aliens. When that happened, they undercut American workers you, this has been going on for decades now.

Who has done so, name every company from every tariffed industry stupid enough to do this.

Americans were being paid squat in the 50s and 60s. We were the cheap goods manufacturer then and CEOs weren't making 100x the average worker either. You can't reverse time, and no manufacturer will not relocate here that haven't already done so, or were already in the process of it, and they certainly aren't going to do it when we have a president who changes tariff policy as quickly and on a whim as much as he lies, which in of itself is another huge problem.

Illegal aliens don't undercut anyone because they're doing jobs no American would do even at higher wages. Ask any farmer if he has any problems with hiring normal americans even when he's willing to pay? This is another fantasy that the right have drummed up in their heads.

He'll get some incremental deals, he'll claim it's the greatest victory in the history of historical victories, his flock will take down the crosses from their walls and replace them with a photo of him, and we can all proceed. Then they'll barely notice a difference.

This was never an "emergency", and it was an issue that could have been handled entirely differently. The way he has done this has cost us critical relationships everywhere and isolated us, with Russia, from the world.

But he has to just fucking get this done and claim victory. Quickly.
