It's difficult to find American products in foreign countries, and next to impossible to find them in China.

The reason is the simple fact that everyone charges us massive tariffs to keep us from competing in their consumer markets. But because Democrats in the White House and in Congress are taking bribes from other countries, they've successfully been able to freeze us out.

NAFTA was negotiated by Trump during his first term, so for him to comeback during his second term and attack Mexico and Canada for a deal that he negotiated was completely out of line. You’re being dishonest, because a lot of Trump supporters argue that tariffs in and of themselves are good for the economy, deal or no deal. Are you a supporter of the belief that tariffs can only benefit the United States if they are killed and replaced by some unspecified hypothetical deal?

And aren’t you admitting that manufacturing in the United States can grow without tariffs as long as we make a deal that involves backtracking on tariffs?

Tariffs are like regulations. Business/people will accept them, but only if there is consistency.

Car companies will invest in safety features like air bags, ABS brakes, backup cameras, etc. knowing the regulations requiring them are going to be there for a long time. And thus they could recoup their investment

The most important countries -- China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, India, Germany -- know he's a buffoon, they know he's trying to "Art of the Deal" them. So they're taking their time. They'll sign agreements at some point, but they're not going to bend over for him.

In the end, the material improvements will be marginal, and nowhere near worth the damage he has caused to our global reputation and influence. Every trading partner is moving away from us, and that will continue. They're even moving away from the dollar and Treasuries. That could cause us real damage, and they know it. But they're not our friends any more.

Trump raised them to about 13% on China in 2018 and they raised theirs to about 10%T. Then he went nuts a few weeks ago and layered on the crazy 145% tariffs. That is a fact. If you want to discuss import tariffs and trade facts with me, I am all for it.

My guess is that you will either not respond or simply type commie and run away. Trump wasnt fixing any problems we had. If he wanted to support US manufacturing he would expand CHIPS and similar legislation instead of trying to dismantle it.
