I have come to the conclusion that you do not actually know what hyperbole means.
Here are some examples of hyperbole...
- He's running faster than the wind.
- This bag weighs a ton.
- That man is as tall as a house.
- This is the worst day of my life.
- The shopping cost me a million dollars.
- My dad will kill me when he comes home.
- Your skin is softer than silk.
- She's as skinny as a toothpick.
They are all so far out there that nobody could ever think they were true. A statement has to be almost comical to be hyperbole.
Trump saying he would never again sign a giant omnibus spending bill is not so far out there than nobody would ever think it was true, in fact you are the only one I have ever seen claim it was hyperbole. As he described why he signed it and why he would not do so again, he gave it validity.
I cannot give you an example of Trump using hyperbole because I do not think he does so.
