Let me get this straight. Some of you think that the IRS, if they lose 80K plus hires, new hires, or whatever, will somehow create a new wave of tax cheats. The logic isn't making sense. For the vast majority of Americans, who file electronically, and even for the IRS, nothing is changing.
You efile, literally now within hours of filing, state and federal returns are being accepted. How? Through Data, provided by you and your employer(s). Most efile softwares have very specific logic and algorithms that review the data you provide. True, the software is only as smart as the data you enter, but trust me, if you send something that does get accepted by the IRS, the IRS has systems in place that will flag your return even of "Turbo Tax" said it was okay.
For the cheaters, IRS losing 80K employees isn't going to create more cheaters, nor will it entice new cheaters.
