Well I was a kid once, when I was growing up in England and admiring the United States, I used to buy DC comics in a local store this was in the late 60s, Superman, Flash, Batman, JLA and so on (I wish I'd kept more than I did). I also bought Mad Magazine one of the few satirical magazines produced by the USA (Britain has many more).

But most men grow out of it, sure a movie once in a while can be fun, but it really is for kids. The US does have an infatuation with the idea though, no other country really makes so many movies about fake heroes.

In the US politics has been reduced to a team sports game, a spectator sport where antics, bluster and rhetoric are the currency and facts, reality, truth are just details that get in the way of the latest "story".
