I support, as I have said in other threads, government advancing actual research.

100% with you on that. NOTHING should be subsidized or funded that is an established product or service in the marketplace. But actual R&D, if distributed without political aims, is perfectly fine with me.

I would go one step further. I think that one of the core responsibilities of government is raw research. I find myself agreeing with you all to often flat
