And the winds have been gusting to over 40 mph. No rain in the Mountains to go with the high winds, hot temperatures. And it gets worse every year. Instead of the rain that is usually present in the last couple of months, these conditions have been present. Now, they are going into the fire season. The only saving grace is, at some point, it will run out of things to burn.

In Colorado, our fires are almost completely out. The Dry and overly hot was finally relieved by cooler temps, calmer winds and rain. It was the worst in Colorado History. It's going to be years before the damage done can be repaired. But like California, lives were lost.

Well, the CA Water Infrastructure was built by Jerry Brown's Dad, Pat Brown, when he was Governor in the early sixties. It was a hundred year plan and as the state's population grew, each generation was supposed to add enough to it to carry their needs. Well, Jerry Brown took over in the 70's when CA's population was about 15M and they quit adding to it.

These water projects were also flood control and hydro-electric, so it solved CA's 3 main challenges, water, power and flood control. Well, no additional features have been added since the 70's, the population is now over 40 million and we have flooding, fires, water and power shortages.

Not only has CA not added an infrastructure they haven't even maintained the infrastructure that their parents and grandparents passed to them.

You fools seem to forget that water useage by the big California cities, combined with years of drought due to increasing termperatures, depleted the water supply in the aquifiers making it impossible to maintain the level of water useage it took to create these urban "fire breaks". The water shortages got so bad that farmers who needed to irrigate to maintain their crops were unable to do so beause of restrictions.

You keep pretending that the wildfires are the result of human mismanagement, instead of the harsh reality is that they are a result of climate change.

The ends to which the right will go to deny manmade climate change and its effect on the economy would make me laugh if the results weren't so catastrophic. Nothing has failed the USA like the Republican Party.

What makes you think that the GOP runs CA? When the GOP ran California they didn't have a hundred people burning alive every year, massive residential and wild fire loss. But, then they didn't have a religious view that water had to be dumped unused into the ocean, and their forests were managed as a renewable resource, with logging breaking up the forest mass, forming fire breaks, with forest roads that worked just as well for fire fighting access.
